Wedding trends for the upcoming season

Greenery and florals
Not only has greenery become a massive trend in households, it’s made its way into the wedding scene too. We’re seeing pops of green in bouquets, greenery art on wedding invites, decor, centrepieces, buttonholes and boho chic floral crowns. There are also hanging arrangements – a great way to jazz up a table setting and add pops of colours with florals to tie it all together.
According to Vogue, 2020 is all about “thoughtful detail rather than over-the-top extravagance.” Florists tend to be getting higher demands for dried flowers and grasses instead of bright coloured roses.
Sustainability
Speaking of green, weddings are also focusing on ways to integrate sustainability according to Vogue. Eco-friendly elements like using seasonal produce and flowers, arranging a reception venue close to the ceremony to reduce the necessity of travel and hiring items that are reusable are in fashion, not to mention booking local suppliers instead of outsourcing from the mainland. It used to be the hot pinks, bright blues and burgundy, but couples have started toning it back to more neutral and earthy tones. It’s all about soft, timeless colours in 2020/21 like sand, pastel pinks and even sage green. From the bridesmaid dresses to the bouquet, the linen on the reception tables to the ribbons tied around the little glass jars with treats gifted to guests, colour is everything and a beautiful and timeless colour choice can bring an entire look together.
